hard drive seemingly randomly recognized by bios

only one of my hds will seemingly randomly be recognized or not be recognized by bios on bootup, and then be there or not be there when windows finishes booting its not the sata port because ive moved the drives around and the probelm persists with the same drive any ideas? thx guys
